Rings

Rings can have so many different meanings. Symbols of love to some, symbols of power to others. Either way they can be amazingly beautiful and elegant. Sometimes the simplest of rings will convey so much.

Take these three rings for instance.  The Garnet ring I bought in Tokyo many years ago and it reminds me of my travels there.  The gold buckle ring is an antique and symbolizes marriage.  The gold coral rose was my grandmother's and brings pleasant memories of her.

These three are wedding and engagement rings from the 1950's.

I never used to like Turquoise however  I absolutely love it now. These three all belonged to my Grandmother. She'd be pleased to know that I wear them all the time.

Vintage Chinese Jewelry

It's amazing how detailed old jewelry can be. The craftsmanship of this silver, jade and enamel set is really beautiful. My father was in the Navy in WWII and bought this set in China in 1948.  They have been in my mother's possession for many years now.
Unfortunately one of the earrings was lost a long time ago.  So I told my mom we should have the remaining earring made into a ring and the brooch into a pendant. The pin on the back of the brooch is broken.  I'm just glad these pieces have survived at all.
