Pearl- June's Birthstone

The birthstone for June is pearl! Pearls are so beautiful and they are the only gemstone created by a living creature and not the earth itself.  In gemstone lore pearls are thought to help bring success and prosperity. They have a long history and are mentioned in the Bible many times.

Of course Coco Chanel was famous for her pearls!

This freshwater pearl necklace is one of my designs in my shop. Do you own any pearl jewelry?

  1. I should have been born in June!! I adore pearls. I have a single strand of white, a greenish gray South Sea strand, some David Yurman white pearl earrings and a long strand of freshwater in gray that I wrap several times around my wrist or twice around my neck.
I am also lucky enough to have some very old earrings that belonged to my Grandmother.

  4. Kim,
I wore a pearl necklace on my wedding day. Pearls are so classy, and I love the picture of Coco Chanel. I didn't realize that pearls are mentioned in the Bible - how special is that? The pearl necklace you created is so lovely.

    I always enjoy your posts.

  7. I'm so glad to know what kind of tree that is. Now, every time I see it, I'll know it's a Crepe Myrtle Tree. Thank you.
